about galloping grace

Transformative Trauma-Focused Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy for Women and Teens

Here at Galloping Grace Farm, I invite you to explore an experiential way of healing that honors your mind, body, heart/emotions, and spiritual life. As described above, “Why a Horse?” I invite you to consider the gifts you receive from a connected reciprocal relationship with the horse. In my journey, the horse was the avenue to healing that included experience regulating my body, deep attunement to self and horse, permission to “mess up,” how to connect securely, empowerment, awareness, honesty, trust in myself, who I could trust in relationships, assertiveness, boundaries. I continue my journey as the horse opens my eyes to healing and growth daily!

A Unique Approach to Healing Through Equine-Assisted Therapy

Our methodology integrates trauma-informed care with the natural wisdom of horses. In this sacred space, you’ll engage in somatic, attachment-based therapy that invites you to explore your feelings and experiences without the pressure of traditional talk therapy. Here, healing unfolds in the rhythm of breath and presence, allowing you to feel safe and supported as you navigate your journey.

Meet Cindy Thompson, Your Guide to Healing

I’m Cindy Thompson, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a passion for helping women and teens find healing through the unique bond with horses. I would like to share first and foremost that I have had a journey of healing myself. Much of what I hear from clients, I have personally experienced. Know that you will be cared for in a nonjudgemental way. I, as you, have been “there,” too.

With training in EMDR, Brainspotting, Sand Tray and other trauma therapies, I believe in the power of presence and relationship in the healing process. I have the skills and experience of implementing trauma therapies and have chosen to consider my focus to be equine assisted psychotherapy at this stage of my life. Included on the property is a trauma therapist who implements EMDR, Art Therapy and Talk Therapy including IFS. Another therapist is trained in Brainspotting, incorporating IFS and other modalities. This gives you the opportunity to experience other modalities as well as Equine Assisted Psychotherapy on the farm.
